I guess I’m glad it isn’t a total oddity in the education world (misery loves company…), though I’m really surprised, to be quite honest.

I was also irked that there was no evaluation or time to comment on the so-called orientation. Now I’m debating whether I should email the organizers and explain how, although the orientation was informative, I do have some concerns and suggestions for its improvement. Not sure how much I want to stir up the pot, or if I should just do it.

Wow…deja vu. I started this past Monday at my new school with kids and only finally saw my curriculum the Thursday before…way too late in my opinion, especially for the newbies. Ironically, one of our staff development videos had the theme “fake it until you make it.” Yup, that’s right…

Frustrating is the word of the week.

I just can’t believe they didn’t include any “get ready for your position” time. Lucky for me, the class is eerily similar to the classes I’ve been teaching the last 6 years, so I have some good stuff made up. However, there are a couple brand newbies in the group as well. I can’t imagine what it’s like for them…
